for 10 Years

Island Board Corps began as a dream, a desire for a more integrated life that brought together the things we love most in this world – family, friends, nature, surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding. The dream was to create a life in which our work was being out in the elements teaching others the skills to interact more intimately with the natural world.

Community has always been a central part of the vision. Our family has bonded through outdoor adventures. The kids were raised on boards, and we have had some amazing opportunities to surf and snowboard around the world: Canada, California, Hawaii, Mexico, Japan, Switzerland, France, and of course our beloved Washington.

When Island Board Corps launched, we expected to have seasonal clients, but to our surprise, we found that many of our clients stay with us for years. Most begin with skating then move into the other adventures. We have families that have been part of our community for seven years and join us for all of our activities. We have families that come back year after year for seasonal activities. We are still friends with our original 2015 crew. This truly is a community.
